About the role:
At Grofers, we are bringing the selection of local stores to the platform. Bringing larger selection and delivering faster to customers will build more re-ordering loops for the customers. As a part of this team, the individual will be responsible for managing sales & margin achievement, inventory management and vendor management for the respective category.

What you will do everyday:
  • Ability to identify new opportunities and execute them
  • Define category charters for growth and relevance to the customer for every hyperlocal area
P&L management:
  • Manage the sales and margin for the hyperlocal categories (Top Line and Bottom Line)
  • Responsible for pricing and promotion of the categories
  • Understand and help the team to build new initiatives to enhance category margin
Category insights:
  • Own the demand generation for the category on the app
  • Devise assortment planning and execution in line with promotional campaigns
  • Plan short and long-term roadmap for the category in consultation with key stakeholders
Category marketing:
  • Lead the sales strategy for the category on the platform
  • Own branding, product assortment, promotion plans and pricing for the category
  • Drive marketing team towards enhanced visibility of category/brands
  • Gather information on the competitive landscape
  • Responsible for category launch and initiative plans to drive the category for sales and customer satisfaction
Skills you need to do the job:
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience into category management in the e-commerce/internet industry
  • High proficiency in working with MS Excel
  • Result oriented with high degree of ownership
  • Strong analytical thinking with proven track record of success in past assignments
  • Develop and execute ideas independently
